Modelling of the fatigue cracking resistance of grid reinforced asphalt concrete by coupling fast BEM and FEM

چکیده

We present a computational modelling approach aimed at investigating the effect of fibre grid reinforcement on crack opening displacement and fatigue propagation. Grid reinforcements are modelled using elastic membrane finite elements, while cracked concrete is treated symmetric boundary element method (BEM), which in particular allows easy geometrical meshing cracks. The BEM accelerated by fast multipole method, allowing handling potentially large models entailed three-dimensional configurations hosting multiple Fatigue growth Paris law. proposed first verified reinforced beam, then applied to configuration featuring grid-reinforced asphalt pavement.
